Three days in Funtana, with space between the plans

Settle by the water, make room for a small adventure and borrow a view from the next town. That is already a good holiday.

Our suggestion

Three flexible days

Daily limit

One main outing

Third-day contrast

Vrsar old town and viewpoints

Day one · find your everyday places

Begin with the village and the fishing harbour. Find the route from your accommodation to a suitable beach before committing to an afternoon there. Notice the entry into the sea, where shade falls and how you will return with bags or tired children. Keep lunch simple and the rest of the day open. An evening walk can introduce another piece of the shoreline, or lead back into the village for a meal. The point is to find places you will enjoy returning to.

Day two · choose one small adventure

With children who are interested, make Dinopark the main outing after confirming the current programme and restrictions. Alternatively, use the morning for the springs and village heritage, then leave the afternoon for the sea. Do not try to turn these into a single compulsory circuit. The Borisi castle can be appreciated from outside without assuming interior access. Let the day have a centre and some breathing space around it. A long lunch is not time lost from sightseeing.

Day three · look back from Vrsar

Visit the neighbouring hilltop town for a change of perspective. Start near Vrsar’s harbour and climb towards a viewpoint if the route suits everyone. The Bernardina walking connection described by the tourist board follows the main road, so do not expect an uninterrupted seafront promenade. Choose transport according to weather, daylight and the needs of your group. Return to Funtana for your last evening. The familiar place may look different after seeing the coastline from above.

At a glance

Keep one anchor in each day.

Day one · Stay by the water

Choose one beach close to your accommodation and keep the afternoon open. This is a suggested settling-in day, not a route to complete. Put dinner in the village ahead of adding another destination.

Day two · The village, then the sea

Give the square and St Bernard’s Church the cooler part of the day. Add the Perila springs only when the route suits your group. Keep a swim as the second anchor rather than scheduling another full excursion.

Day three · Give Vrsar its own day

Make neighbouring Vrsar the main outing, not an extra stop after a crowded morning. Decide on your return transport before leaving. Use our connected Vrsar guide for the old town, harbour and viewpoints; shorten the visit when needed.

Map links open a place search, not a surveyed walking route. Check entrances, private areas and access on arrival. Our comparisons are editorial planning suggestions; facilities and admission can change.

A few things to know

Can this work with young children?

Yes, as a flexible set of ideas. Shorten the walks, choose the beach carefully and make the outing optional rather than a daily requirement.

Are activities or meals included?

No. This is editorial inspiration, not a booking or package. Make individual arrangements directly and check current conditions.
